Selection Test Anxiety: Exploring Tension and Fear of Failure Across the Sexes in Simulated Selection Scenarios
نویسندگان
چکیده
Standardized tests are commonly used to select individuals in both pre-employment and educational settings. Nevertheless, research has yet to sufficiently explore the relationship between test anxiety (TA) and test performance in selection contexts. The goal of this study was to assess the dimensionality of TA, the relations between TA and test performance, and the impact of gender on TAwithin the realm of personnel selection. Test anxiety was found to be bi-dimensional and negatively related to performance on a cognitively based selection instrument. Gender moderated the relation between TA and test performance, with stronger associations for males. This finding is consistent with the sex-linked anxiety coping theory that is advanced here. Implications of this study and avenues for future research are discussed.

The development of genomic selection has created new strategies in animal breeding programs. The aim of this study was to investigate the efficiency of genomic selection in breeding programs of native hens. In this study, a reference scenario with 3380 birds using pedigree and phenotypic information was simulated and the expected genetic progress was derived deterministically with the software ...

This study aimed to investigate the effect of attribution retraining on academic procrastination and fear of failure of Semnan high school girl students with test anxiety. This study was applied in terms of purpose and semi-experimental based on the nature and method with pretest-posttest along with a control group. The statistical population included all high school girl students of the second...

1.Introduction Marriage is the most important custom in all societies and cultures, which has the formation and formation of the closest communication processes between two people and ultimately the formation of a social unit called the family (1). The family is the place of meeting various physical, intellectual and emotional needs, and having knowledge of biological and psychological needs a...
متن کاملPain-related anxiety influences pain perception differently in men and women: a quantitative sensory test across thermal pain modalities.
The sexes differ with respect to perception of experimental pain. Anxiety influences pain perception more in men than in women; however, there lacks research exploring which anxiety constructs influence pain perception differentially between men and women. Furthermore, research examining whether depression is associated with pain perception differently between the sexes remains scant. The prese...
متن کاملThe Impact of Different Genetic Architectures on Accuracy of Genomic Selection Using Three Bayesian Methods
Genome-wide evaluation uses the associations of a large number of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers across the whole genome and then combines the statistical methods with genomic data to predict the genetic values. Genomic predictions relieson linkage disequilibrium (LD) between genetic markers and quantitative trait loci (QTL) in a population. Methods that use all markers simultaneo...
